Ambassador Visit

On 25th of August 2011, Councillor/Advisor of SLNGA Gam Gurung organised welcome visit to Ambassador Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise and wife Dr. Adhikari in Merton Council. They were greeted by “Gilli Lewis – Lavender, Mayor of London Borough of Merton,Council leader Councillor Stephen Alambritis, all Councillors, Chairman of SLNGA and all of its members, ladies, children and gentlemen at Council chamber

Your Excellency, On behalf of the Merton Council and South London Nepalese (Gurkha) Association, I would like to thank you for accepting our invitation and giving us the opportunity to meet in person. Our community’s members were very much delighted with your presence.

Councillor/Founder Chairman of SLNGA Gam Gurung would like to extend a warm welcome to all of you at this historical day and would like to thank you all for attending this evening

Cllr Gam is privileged to be the first Nepalese London Borough Merton Councillor and more importantly first Labour Councillor in UK.

He said we must know his Excellency is a very important person for all Nepalese people living in this country. He represents our country and the 30Million people of Nepal.
